Privacy Policy

When you choose a file, the tool reads it with JavaScript in the tab. Compressing a PDF, merging pages, converting an image, building a ZIP, or formatting JSON happens on your device. Confiles has no file-upload server for those tools and no account where a document could be saved.

The buttons say upload because that is the usual word for choosing a file. It means from your device into the page, not from your device to us. When you close the tab, the file in memory goes with it. We do not receive the contents, the filename, or a copy of the result.

A few limits follow from that design. An encrypted PDF cannot be opened here. A very large file can fail if the browser runs out of memory. Those failures still happen locally. They are not a retry that sends the file to a server.

Confiles is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare can process ordinary connection data for any site it hosts, such as IP address, the page URL, and user agent, under Cloudflare's own terms. That is hosting traffic. It is not the contents of the PDF you compress.

The HTML also loads fonts from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com so the pages can use those typefaces. Your browser requests those font files from Google when it renders a page.

The site includes Google Tag Manager, container GTM-P34WLRTH, a Google tag for Analytics measurement ID G-DNSWG1BPST, and the Google AdSense script for publisher ca-pub-2273861139088572. These scripts are part of the page. They can receive standard browser data such as the page address, approximate location derived from IP, and cookie or device identifiers, according to Google's policies and your browser settings.

A cookie notice on the site stores your choice in local storage under the key analytics-consent. Accepting allows the site to record tool-usage events and to request AdSense ad units where a placement is configured. Rejecting stores that refusal and the site does not request those ad units or send those tool events. You can open Cookie settings in the footer to choose again.

Ad units are not placed on top of the tool workspace. Whether Google shows additional ad formats is controlled in the AdSense account as well as by the slots in the page. Advertising cookies, if you have accepted them or if Google sets them through the included scripts, are used to serve, measure, and limit ads. You can also control ad personalization in Google's own ad settings.

We do not sell the files you process. We do not have those files.

The site stores analytics-consent in local storage so it can remember the cookie choice. It can also store recent-tools, a short list of tool names you opened, so the homepage can show them on that browser. That list is not sent to us as a file.

Google's scripts may set their own cookies. Browser controls and the cookie notice are the ways to limit that. Clearing site data for confiles.com removes the local storage entries.

Privacy questions, including a request about analytics or advertising on this site, go to juanmagnc@gmail.com. Say that the message is about privacy and include the page address. There is no account to delete, because the tools do not create one.

This policy describes how the site works today. If the advertising or analytics setup changes in a material way, this page should change with it.
