How to Compress an Image to JPG for Email
If an email or a web form rejects a photo, open Compress Image and download the JPG it makes. The file stays on your device. The page does not ask for a target file size: it saves a JPEG and shows the before and after size so you can see whether the attachment is actually smaller.
Quick answer
Choose one JPG, PNG, or WebP on Compress Image, then download the .jpg only if the new size is smaller. Transparent areas are flattened, and the width and height do not change.
What you get back
The download is always a JPG, even when you started with a PNG or a WebP. The file name ends in .jpg. Width and height stay the same, so a 4000-pixel photo is still a 4000-pixel photo, just stored as a JPEG.
There is no quality slider. The page uses one JPEG setting and shows the real sizes. A photo that was already a small JPEG may barely change. A large camera photo or a PNG screenshot usually drops more.
Transparency is flattened
JPEG has no transparent pixels. A PNG or WebP logo with a clear background will not stay see-through. Those areas are flattened into the picture.
That is the right trade for an email photo. It is the wrong trade for a logo you still need to place on a colored page. For that file, use Convert Image and choose PNG.
Email, a form, and a web page are different jobs
For email and for a form that only accepts JPG, this page is the direct step. Attach the downloaded JPG, not the original PNG.
For a website photo you want as WebP, do not use Compress Image. It cannot save WebP. Use Convert Image and choose WebP, or keep the JPG if the page you are editing only accepts JPEG.
If the JPG is still too tall or too wide for the form, Resize Image changes the pixel size. It stretches to the exact width and height you type, so use numbers with the same shape as the photo or the picture will look distorted. Compress that smaller file afterward if you still need a JPEG.

Can I tell it to make a 200 KB file?
No. The page does not take a target size. It shows the size you actually got. If that number is still over the limit, resize the image and compress it again.
Will a transparent PNG stay transparent?
No. The download is a JPG, so transparent areas are flattened. Use Convert Image and choose PNG when the clear background has to survive.
Does the image leave my device?
No. Compression runs in your browser. Confiles does not receive or store the image.
