How to Extract PDF Pages for an Upload Limit
When a form rejects the whole PDF, Extract PDF Pages builds a new file from the numbers you type, such as 1, 3, 5. The original stays on your device. Split PDF is the other tool: it saves every page as its own PDF inside a ZIP, and that ZIP is about as large as the file you started with.
Quick answer
Type only the pages the form asked for, separated by commas, and download extracted-pages.pdf. If that shorter file is still over the cap, compress it. Do not split the PDF if you only needed it to be smaller.
Extract, split, and compress do different things
Extract PDF Pages keeps the page numbers you list and drops the rest. A 40-page packet becomes a 3-page PDF when you type 1, 2, 12. That is often the only way under a 2 MB or 5 MB form limit when the file is mostly text, because text pages barely shrink.
Split PDF makes one PDF per page and packs them in split-pages.zip. Use it when the form wants separate files. Do not use it to reduce the total size. The set is about as large as the original.
Compress PDF recompresses photos or redraws a scan. Run it after you extract, on the short file, if the remaining pages are still too heavy. Redrawing removes selectable text, so do not redraw a form you still need to search.
How to type the page numbers
Page 1 is the first page of the file, not a printed page number in a footer. The box does not read ranges. 2-4 is not pages 2, 3, and 4. Type 2, 3, 4.
This page does not show thumbnails. Count the pages in your own viewer first, then type the list. Numbers that are not real pages are skipped. If none of the numbers are valid, the page shows an error and does not download a file.
If the short file is still too big
Check the size of extracted-pages.pdf against the number in the form error. If it fits, upload that file, not the original.
If it does not fit and the pages are photos or scans, open Compress PDF and try recompressing images. If the text has to stay selectable, do not redraw the pages. Sending fewer pages is the remaining option.
Encrypted PDFs cannot be opened here. Unlock the file first. The extract tool does not change your original.

Can I type 4-9?
No. List each page, as in 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. A range is ignored, so you might extract nothing.
Does splitting the PDF make it small enough to upload?
No. Split PDF puts every page in a ZIP that is about as large as the original. Extract the pages you were asked to send when the limit is the problem.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. The new PDF is built in your browser. The original file is not changed.
